About Billy Quimby
Growing up in the Finger Lakes region of New York State surrounded by picturesque farmlands, Billy began his fascination with how spatial experiences shape everyday life leading him to study architecture at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY as well as abroad in Italy. With a drive to create spatial experiences, Billy headed west to San Francisco where creativity and ideals seemed to be boundless. Design curiosity and creativity flourished in San Francisco while he forged a wide-ranging career in both residential and hospitality projects, stateside and internationally.
Challenged early in his career to focus on intricately detailing projects, he takes pride in creating meticulous backdrops on which to layer a design story. As an interior designer and an architect, he has developed a masterful ability to find balance and harmony in the most complex projects, navigating and imposing a comprehensive vision with resourceful dedicated execution. His love of travel has taken him all across the globe exploring architecture, design, history and cultures bringing an understated passion into designing that is backed by limitless imagination.
His accomplished hospitality works include the successful extensive renovation and reimagining of the Ritz-Carlton Chicago, a multi-year renovation breathing new life into an iconic urban destination; as well as the acclaimed Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. He blended my residential and hospitality design talents to connect the branded St. Regis Residences Boston to the historic Seaport District. His residential works include homes in San Francisco, along the pacific coast including Pebble Beach, Montecito, and Santa Barbara. His work has been featured in numerous publications that include Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Boutique Design, Modern Luxury Interiors and Town & Country.
